After walking you through the ins and outs of the app, it basically boils down to this: calls don’t take up the entire screen, leaving you free to continuing doing whatever you were doing without having to politely (see: angrily) wait for the other person to hang up. Even after downloading it, it reboots the phone and has a guided tour on your screen (remember this is a jailbreak tweak, by the way, as in a grey-market application, not some well-funded new dating app in the app store). The tweak this week is called Callbar and it’s really well-designed. If you’re like me and just feel like phone calls get in the way of what a phone is supposed to be used for (surf the internet, right?) and love the irony in that, then I found a jailbreak tweak you might enjoy. You wanted to just ask me if what I’m up to tonight? Don’t. Maybe you’re coming up to the exit on the freeway you think you’re supposed to turn and need to confirm before you pass it? Fine. You’re standing in line to buy me a present and need to know if I’ll like it and I’m not there? Call, for the love of god. The only time I should ever get a phone call, is if whatever it is that needs to be said, is seriously time sensitive –as in if you don’t know right this minute, it’s going to mess something up.

You can set it for either a banner or in full screen.Oh, people that still call other people… Don’t you know by now that no one calls anyone? Text me, email me, even ping me on Twitter, but actually dial me? Hold the phone. So that’s how you can set how you receive incoming calls on the iPhone. It’s going to be set for banner, just tap on that and set it for full screen. Then go to your phone settings and you’re going to see incoming calls by default. So if you like that old behavior of the iPhone, where when you get a phone call, it took up the entire display.Īll you need to do is just go into your settings. Once I do that, it takes me back to the app. What it is going to do is take up the entire display so I can easily see who it is from there. I like to have that in full screen, take over the entire app while all you do is just tap on this and then you go to full screen.Īnd now when I receive a phone. And right now you can see the set for the banner, which means when I receive a phone call, it’s just going to put a banner across the top. When I tap on phone, there is a setting here up at the top. So how do we do that? Well, what we need to do is we need to go down to our settings app here, and then we swipe up until we find our phones set. So now when I get a phone call on my personal phone, it takes up the entire display. This is how I have my personal phone set. Like it used to do in older versions of iOS. When you get a phone call, you can say your iPhone to do that. If you no longer want to have the banner and you’d like to have. What you can do is change the behavior back to that full screen. So that way that phone call does not interrupt what you are doing. Now, what you get is a banner across the top of your iPhone here, showing who is calling, but you can still use the app. Well in recent versions of iOS, apple changed how that is. If you were within an app, you wouldn’t be in that app.

The image would take up the entire display on your iPhone. Now, if you’ve been an iPhone user for awhile, you may recall that when you receive a phone call on the iPhone, what it used to do is take up the entire display. In this video, I’m going to show you how you can display your incoming calls as either a banner or in full screen on the iPhone.
